New production: NGOMA

La Guajira is preparing a new show for theaters and auditoriums, scheduled to premiere in spring 2026.

The proposal is entitled NGOMA (drum and movement in African cultures). The work is inspired by intergenerational relationships and reflects on identity in contexts of emigration and diaspora. It takes a sensitive look at filial relationships and cultural transmission as a unifying element of the community.

The show features the creation, performance, and direction of Armando Martén, the original soundtrack by Ismael Berdei, lighting by Octavio Más, and will feature the collaboration of Gala Martén, a young Cuban/Galician dancer who is participating in a La Guajira project for the first time.
